FDI 2026 | 24–26 September 2026 | Hall 9, Stand B02
At Furnishings & Design Istanbul (FDI) 2026, held on 24–26 September 2026, Marwood welcomed visitors at Hall 9, Stand B02. Alongside our main stand built around material research, our products were also shown in the Heartmade Lounge and Design Circle areas.

Material is always an open file
In Marwood’s design practice, material is not a final choice but a field of ongoing research. When a product is finished, the research does not end; it is simply handed over to a new question.
Our FDI 2026 stand grew from this idea. Titled “Endless Experiments on Material Memories”, it brought the memory of production, design and material to the same table. For us, a mistake is not a flaw to be left off the record; it is a research topic waiting to be reopened.
We explore the past, transform the present and imagine the future.
Every material carries a memory.
Every experiment opens a new possibility.
Every conscious step embraces sustainability.
Pieces shown unfinished
We chose to show some pieces in their “unfinished” state:
- Cliff was displayed with its production sketches still on it.
- Mitte‘s outer surface was coated with a holographic paint used in the automotive industry, while its inner surface was left unpainted. The experiment missed last year’s fair; this year it took its place as it is. A material study questioning the limits of a limited edition, the experiment is not complete, but the research is still open.
- All wooden surfaces, except the Kastamonu Entegre tops, were left raw.
EcoHue: an invisible solution, on show for the first time
EcoHue is a discovery that brings the production residue of 13 different metal colours together in one signature shade. Used in load-bearing frames and primer layers, this grey creates a closed loop focused on zero waste. Every year, 26,800 m² of material is finished in this grey.
EcoHue normally stays in places no one sees. At FDI 2026, it stepped forward for the first time, on the metal parts of Lumo, Pile, Pipe, Denis, Origo, Timy and Brio.
It’s all about Collaboration: our material partners
We believe real innovation is born from shared intelligence. Co-creation is not a preference for us; it is a condition of research. The products on our stand came to life with four material and technology partners:

- Wastea: A fresh approach revealing the potential hidden in tea waste that has reached the end of its lifecycle. Türkiye is the world’s fourth-largest tea producer. Fourth-grade tea waste, which cannot be used in food, feed or bioenergy, becomes a lasting bio-leather with Wastea. Used on the Lumo armchair on the main stand (Big-T Yellow) and the Mitte pouf (Artvin Suede Burgundy).
- Kastamonu Entegre: A new possibility born from hemp stalks and discarded coffee grounds. CoffeeBoard began as an idea to reuse coffee grounds from the Kastamonu Entegre R&D team’s own offices. It won an Interzum Award in 2025 and was used on the Pile side table top. HempBoard turns the woody waste of hemp, a plant harvested several times a year, into raw material; it was used on the Denis table top.
- Camira: An exploration where marine plastic waste becomes textile. Oceanic fabric is made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, including 50% SEAQUAL® yarn. Every metre gives new life to 26 recycled bottles, and the fabric is EU Ecolabel certified. Used on Pile, Cluster, the Paged Prop and Icho chairs, and Brio.
- Kreate+: Adds technological depth with innovative textile technologies. Its yarns are produced under the Rolefin brand: the first recycled olefin yarn made from post-industrial waste, certified Cradle to Cradle, EU Ecolabel and GRS. Its RCQ Malta fabric was used on the Pile pouf and the Origo side table.
For us, sustainability is not the limit of our curiosity about material; it is one of its results.
Products on the main stand
Cliff, Mitte, Brio, Lumo, Cluster, Pile, Denis, Pipe, Origo, Timy and Paged Icho / Prop.

Heartmade Lounge: Lumo and Rota
Two of our products designed by Mustafa Timur were shown in the Heartmade Lounge:
- Lumo: A lounge chair whose reclined back and rounded lines bring a relaxed, inviting character to lounge areas. It features a polyurethane-filled body and a slim steel arm and leg frame.
- Rota: A sofa whose oval, flowing form adds a sculptural touch to the space. Its gently curved lines and sturdy metal legs offer elegant, balanced support.
Both products were upholstered in Kreate+ fabric.

Design Circle: Cliff
In Design Circle, FDI’s area for designers and new ideas, the Cliff Acoustic Divider series was shown as a standalone piece of furniture. Upholstered in Kreate+ Tonda fabric, the series comes in three sizes. In orange, grey and purple, it rose in the space like a rocky silhouette.

Experiments never end
We thank everyone who visited our stand, as well as the designers and material partners who made it possible. Every finished piece leaves behind a new surface waiting to be explored. See you at the next experiment.
